Bois et Charbon
Bois et Charbon are a modern day Jazz Manouche band, with a line-up of Paul McIver and Peter Baylor on guitars, Elise Winterflood on double bass and Paul Winter on clarinet or saxophone. They are inspired by ensembles such as the Rosenberg Trio and Fapy Lafertin’s Le Jazz as well as the late 40s Be-Bop influenced Django recordings. Drawing upon a tasty selection of Swing classics and Musette waltzes, they have been gigging consistently at Melbourne venues over the last three years, much to the delight of young and old alike.
