Chris Frater's Vintage 08

Vintage 08 - a new and exciting band from Bellingen whose members are Chris Frater, Paul Bulanyi, Peter Crane and Joe Tussie. Each member has a rich musical past which enhances their ability to combine and create when playing an array of jazz styles.

Chris Frater (Sax) has selected a unique blend of music that jazz lovers will be excited by; the earthy blues that underpin the style will be on display along with a generous portion of complex structures that define a well-balanced and intoxicating mix. Chris has been involved in the Jazz Festival since its inception, he has performed with many different line-ups over the years including The Ferals, Zoobop, Stax of Sax, and The Bellingen Big Band.

Paul Bulanyi (Guitar) adds viscous, flowing lines combining great depth and virtuosic highlights to ballads and straight ahead arrangements. Paul is well known for his performances with The Hot Club of Boggy Creek, The Lounge Wizards and the Festival's Jazz Manouche.

Peter Crane's (Bass) solid wood notes enhance the bold flavours of the ensemble that leave a lasting impression, filling the musical palette. Peter has performed with Graham Bennet Band, Roger Burke and is also widely known for his work as a guitarist.

Drummer, Joe Tussie is the driving, exuberant ingredient that stimulates and enhances the delicate nuances within each composition. Joe has performed with many working blues, roots and rock bands. He also plays with The Louise Gore Trio.
