John is one of the most lyrical players of those instruments in Australia today, and he and Roger have teamed up on a number of occasions in recent years.

Loosely described as "modern mainstream", the RBQ draws its material from the repertoire of standards made popular in the fifties and sixties by Stan Getz, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery and Horace Silver.  The Band is led by veteran Irish (..I'm only in it for the money..) sax player, Roger Burke and features "Ella" styled vocalist Christie Schlenker.  The rest of the RBQ is guitarist - Santo Cimino, bassist - Bruce Stephen with Phil Stitt on drums and vocals.

  
The music is easy to listen to, accessible, swinging and is performed with a sense of humour.
