The Roger Burke Quartet featuring Christie Schlenker
Roger plays tenor sax and flute and his various groups have been a mainstay of the Jazz scene in Bellingen and beyond for many years. Loosely described as ‘modern mainstream’, the band draws material from the vast repertoire of standards by Gershwin, Kern, Ellington and others. The music is accessible, swinging and always has a sense of humour.
Christie is a fine singer, with influences of Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae.With Roger is guitarist – Santo Cimino, bassist - Bruce Stephen, and Phil Stitt on drums & vocals.
